In response to the global spread of COVID-19 and in accordance with CDC recommendations to limit gatherings to 50 people, Talent Rewire is postponing the Inland Empire Rewire Accelerator originally scheduled for May 12-13, 2020. We did not come to this decision lightly but do so out of an abundance of caution to protect the health and safety of attendees, partners, and staff and to support the wider public efforts to “flatten the curve.” We will update this page with the new dates as soon as they are confirmed. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ulises Trujillo-Rivera.
Fueled by booming manufacturing, tech, entertainment, agricultural, and transportation industries, California’s economy is the fifth largest in the world. And yet, the state has the highest poverty rate in the nation at 19%, with people of color disproportionately represented. We see a similar discrepancy in the labor market – the historically tight labor market has made it difficult for employers to fill their entry-level roles; at the same time, employment remains out of reach for many, particularly people of color. These factors present a unique forcing mechanism for California employers to rewire their talent systems and create more opportunities and supports for low-wage workers, while addressing employers’ talent pain points.
In partnership with the James Irvine Foundation, Talent Rewire invites Inland Empire area employers to participate in a two-day in-person Rewire Accelerator on May 12-13, 2020. The Rewire Accelerator is an action-oriented experience designed to help HR, CSR, and Operations leaders identify, understand and design solutions for real and immediate business problems they face with recruiting, retaining, or advancing their frontline workforce.
California Workforce Providers
For the first time, Workforce Providers are invited to join the Accelerator with the aim of learning new tools and techniques to strategically engage employers. To learn more download the Inland Empire Provider One-Pager.
